Episode Pacing Chart

One of the key metrics we use at Buzzsprout is how your episodes progress over their first 30 days of publication. These statistics provide a straightforward way to compare episodes and gauge how they're connecting with listeners.

Our Episode Pacing chart helps you track that progress! On your Buzzsprout Home Page, the Episode Pacing chart displays the download numbers for your four most recent episodes over time.

Let's walk through the chart! Episode Pacing.png

Episode Pacing

The bottom axis tracks the days since you published each episode, from Day 1 to Day 30, while the right-hand axis shows the total downloads. You’ll track the four colored lines to see the episode's progress.

Each line represents an individual episode. The black line is your latest episode, and the green, yellow, and blue lines correspond to your next three most recent episodes. Hovering over each line will reveal the title of the episode it represents!

Podcast Performance

To the right of the chart, you will see some quick key metrics:
  • Today: Tracks how many downloads your podcast received today across all episodes.
  • 7-day Total: Displays your total number of downloads from the past seven days across all episodes.
  • Plus, you'll see how many episodes you've published in the last 30 days!
Note: These numbers will include downloads from all episodes, not just those shown in the Pacing Chart.

Identify your download trends using the Episode Pacing chart to spot patterns, refine your content strategy, and see your progress. We hope it can be another tool in your belt to help grow your podcast!
